ABOUT

Hi! I’m Reanna, an artistic photographer. I see things just a little bit different than most people. In my head, life is art waiting to happen.

I created images that are not just art. Thats what you were like in your life at that moment.

I love to twist inspiration from fashion and music magazines with renaissance paintings. Don’t worry, I won’t see you as a Jackson Pollock! but I might just pose you in front of a backdrop that reminds me of his work. If its there, I want to capture that old school ‘national geographic’ emotion (usually minus the nakedness!).

My artistic life is my life. Fine art, painting, art history, photography, illustration, graphic design. Creativeness is a family trait. I come from a family of artisans who can’t help but create…… painters, woodcarvers, musicians, gardeners, floral designers, writers, knitting masters, fashionistas, carpenters, photographers..and more. Right now I am teaching my daughter how to use her camera. She just taught me how to snap my fingers (which I am not very good at).

So you must be here because you are someone who values photography as an art. You thinking of having something stylish and modern to hang on your wall that you have an emotional link to. Or a canvas for Grandma of the grandkids that doesnt look like it was created at a grocery or department store. You want something totally unique and personal that wasn’t mass produced.

Maybe you’re in your third trimester and just realized how fast (or slow) time is passing and want to document it in a way that you will look good, unlike the horrible picture someone snapped of you when you weren’t prepared.

Oh! And the question everyone always asks: Why is my company called Blackbird Photography? Because bluebirds are too sweet and are not quirky enough. Because I find the song by the Beatles inspiring, and it was my wedding song sung by my BFF (and picked as a surprize to me). Because my daughter as a baby flapped her arms all over like she was trying to fly.

Why do I love my job? How many people out there can say they go to work and everyone they see is happy? I love it. I love the absolute pride and glee and wonder in parents who take their children or newborns for portraits. I love the excitement of a woman who saw how beautiful she really is through my images, instead of how she ‘thinks’ she might be.
