LIFE
Happy to be back outside! (Edmonton Family Photographer)
Kyla has two adorable daughters, can’t you tell? They are gorgeous like their mom. They met me at Louise McKinney park downtown for some outdoor fun, and the girls found some pretty awesome walking sticks too.

Spring is here and I am so happy to be able to head back outside for photoshoots! Hurray for green grass and warm weather! Contact Blackbird Photography for your families outdoor photosession at 780-940-2128.
Something dramatic (Edmonton childrens photographer)
I spent some time testing with a new light, and wanted to work on a classic rembrandt style lighting silhouette. Then I saw the a poster for the Hunger Games movie and used my model to try something similar.

Miss T grads grade 9!

Congratulations to Miss T, who is just finishing off grade 9. The awesome-est babysitter ever (quoted from my daughter), was a supertrooper who I dragged through what was one of my favorite photography locations (but has recently been vandalized and the site of disgusting garbage dumping). You cant see any of the refuse in the photos, but at such a beautiful place, you can just image how awful it is that someone had to ruin it. That aside, this lady was an awesome gal who was a joy to work with and didnt run when the gophers surprised us (or we surprised them?)

Night of Honour: 25 years
An enourmous thank you to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for allowing me to be a part of their Night of Honour 25 year celabration, (event photography) at the fabulous Fantasyland hotel. Here are some pics of the event honouring the organizers, survivors, volunteers, scientists and contributors who work so hard.

People 4 Pink
The fabulous Sonya put on a fabulous fundraiser, People for Pink, to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation. It was an amazing night with wonderful people, held at Teddy’s, with a night full of performers such as Lascivious Burlesque, and Edmonton bands such as The Juice, Wasepic, Stephanie Bosch, Alanna & Kalsey. (sorry if I missed anyone!). I donated two gift certificates, one towards the silent auction, and am so happy they helped contribute to the cause.
Here is my amazing assistant who volunteered for the night, Sabrina of Pur Elements Photography, probably moments before a balloon full of glitter exploded all over her camera equipment.

Classic Car Swap Meet and Auction
I travelled May 2 to Red Deer, to visit the Classic Car Swap Meet and Auction. (Ok, offficially, this photographer was dragged by her husband to the swap meet) but while I completely missed the auction by a day, I still had fun by taking some extreme close up pics of the show.

(yes, thats me in the chrome!)
