Pets in the Park 2011 ( Edmonton Pet Photographer)
I had an awesome day volunteering for the Edmonton Humane Society’s 19th Annual Pets in the Park. What a great day! I was reminded again (this was my third year) how amazing it was to see so many entrants in the race with their dogs (and a few cats in strollers) running together. Dogs were the main animals everywhere, but there were alot of cats, a few birds and the odd lizard as well. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the event.

I am excited to announce Blackbird Photography will be back at Pets in the Park this year!
Last year I had such a blast donating my time and photography for the Edmonton Humane Society, I am really honoured to be asked to volunteer again.

Christmas Shenanigans!
One of the great things about this time of year (besides the lack of snow?) is meeting all the families that come by for their yearly pictures. Even though some people get worried about matching outfits or getting the kids to smile ahead of time, usually everyone relaxes and has fun during once the photoshoot starts.
This year the Allan boys really got their family all tied up….literally. For a little bit of holiday joy these boys held Mom and Dad hostage with some tree lights and showed them who’s boss. Max the dog joined in the fun too.
I love pictures like this because everyone is relaxed and laughing and their true personality shines through – thats the best holiday memory to record.

I still have some holiday openings if you want to be fit in for your own holiday session.
Jodie and Billy
Jodie and Billy met me at one of my favorite north end parks (Hermitage Park) with their beautiful dogs for an Outdoor Fall family photosession.
I no longer have any October openings for outdoor sessions, but a new month is coming and I still have some pre-Christmas spots for those who would brave our indeterminate November weather.
