CONSULTATION & APPOINTMENT BOOKING
Your experience with Blackbird Photography starts with a consultation, by phone to determine your photography image needs. All photoshoots are tailored to create the beautiful art for the individual needs of each client. At this time we chat about your vision, styles, locations and who will be involved in the process (children, babies, etc). Then we book!
All portrait sessions are by appointment only at the Blackbird Photography studio, or can be at the location of your choice within Edmonton area for only $30/shoot (unless otherwise specified). Travel fees to other areas may vary, please inquire for clarification.
All photosessions require a $100 retainer to book, which acts as credit toward your shoot. This comes out of your session fee, with the remainder due at the time of the session.
Blackbird Photography books photosessions on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Weekends are the most popular, and I usually fully book 1-2 months in advance, and maintain a wait list. PHOTOSESSION
Your session can be in your home, outdoors at a scenic urban or rural location, or in my studio. The photosession lasts about an hour, or longer, to be determined at the time of your consultation.
Session fee payment is due in cash, credit card or cheque at the time of your the photosession, or you may pre-pay at time of booking with credit card by phone. I do not accept debit nor carry a merchant card machine with me. Cheques must be payable to Blackbird Photography. The session fee covers the photographers time and talent, and unless package sessions are booked, all prints are priced separately.
YOUR ORDERING SESSION
Your ordering session is booked at the same time as your appointment, or at the time of your photoshoot. Ideally, it should be 2 weeks after your shoot, which gives me time to retouch and enhance your images. Blackbird Photography presents all proofs during in person during your Ordering Session appointment. Blackbird Photography produces between 20 -30 colour proofs per photosession, also shown duplicate in black and white.
Think ahead about what you would like. Are you interested in a calendar for the grandparents? A gorgeous print on metal over the sofa? A collection of images in an album? A stand up folio for your desk to display? A stunning wall gallery?
Just like the best way to find flattering clothes, the best way to decide what you want to order is to see the samples and sizes in person. Proofing in person allows you time to see the many products Blackbird Photography offers in person, customize your artwork and see the sizing textures and finishes.You get to see and touch samples of my albums, feel the texture of the canvas, see the difference between the finishes of metal wall art or view how artblocks stand out from your wall.
You can ask me tons of questions about the prints and products I offer and get answers and see sizes without delayed email responses. Ordering sessions usually take about an hour and are done at my studio.
Live out of town? Blackbird Photography can set up an online ordering session appointment through Skype, and we can all view the images together and I can answer your questions in real time, and show your products through webcam.
PRODUCTS & COLLECTIONS
Artprints and products are purchased through collections or individually (ala carte), you may pick and choose what size you wish to buy, with no minimum order. I offer a variety of different products, such as albums, books, artwork printed on metal, art calendars, dressertop folios greeting cards, postcards and more.These will be on view at your ordering session.
DIGITAL ENHANCEMENTS & PROFESSIONAL RETOUCHING
All images taken receive complimentary digital enhancements, minor touchups and post processing. This includes blemish elimination. However, if you want me to extreme photoshop you into a scene, switch heads or do dramatic weight loss, there will be an additional charge of $30/image. 
WEBSHARE IMAGES
Blackbird Photography provides low resolution, webshare images of images purchased. They are a complimentary service for you to share your images online, such as Facebook or emailing. Webshare images of prints purchased will be emailed after your print order or may be downloaded from the Blackbird Photography blog or Blackbird Photography Facebook page.
Webshare images contain the Blackbird Photography copyright and watermark. These images are for clients personal use only and not commercial use, sale or publication, and may not be altered. Images may not be used without credit to Blackbird Photography, who retains the copyright of the images. Non-disclosure agreements require a contract and will be charged a fee.

The images may not be reproduced, altered, copied, transmitted or manipulated without the written permission of Blackbird Photography. As the artist, Blackbird Photography, its artists and its photographers maintain copyright and maintain the right to use images in their portfolio.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
Gift certificates are available, and valid for current session and pricing rates. Please book far in advance.
RESCHEDULING & CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be rescheduled 48 hours prior to original appointment. Retainer will be applied to the rescheduled date if you rebook at time of cancellation. Retainer is non-refundable. You are allowed one reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours will require a new retainer to rebook.
